⭐ Bonus tip when applying these roles:
Have a list of keywords for the types of words you’re looking for and set up general job alerts for those keywords. If you’re applying to marketing roles, set keywords like “marketing intern 2025”, “product marketing intern”, or “digital marketing intern”.
If you’re applying to SWE roles, set keywords like engineer, product engineer, backend or frontend, software development, UX/UI, and more. Know the types of titles you’re applying to and save them as job alerts on LinkedIn to save you time from looking in the wrong places when searching on LinkedIn for jobs.

Intern Spotlight: Aiturgan (Aya) Talant

Can you give a brief introduction of yourself, your background, and your intern role at Microsoft as a part of the New Technologists program?
My name is Aiturgan, and I am a second-year community college student pursuing CS! I went from being a ballerina to interning at Microsoft, being fellow with Uber and more! I was part of the New Technologists Program by Cyborg Mobile, where students from different backgrounds build products together from scratch and receive mentoring at Microsoft!

What are some helpful resources that you found useful in your career search journey?
I vouch for BobaTalks. I have found the Uber Career Prep and Asians @ Microsoft Program through BT’s discord server! You can find industry professionals, mentors, your community, and the best support there! Moreover, I host daily Leetcode sessions there! Other helpful recourses I utilize are Rewriting the Code, WeCracked, and Simplify Internships GitHub Repo!
What is one advice you’d give to students who are looking to pursue a career with an 'unconventional' background?
Everything that makes you different is your strength, not your weakness. Being your authentic self will give you the confidence and courage to show up for yourself, build that project you always wanted to, talk to that cool person on LinkedIn, and so on. You might fail and stumble, the process will suck, but ther is something that sucks more: the regret of not doing it. You have the power to define your story, not them.

OpenAI Announces a New AI Model, Code-Named Strawberry, that stumps previous model GPT-4
OpenAI has introduced a new AI model, OpenAI-o1, which improves on existing models by reasoning through complex problems instead of delivering instant answers, as large language models typically do. This shift in approach allows the model to solve tasks that stump even GPT-4, OpenAI's most powerful model.
OpenAI-o1 uses reinforcement learning to enhance its problem-solving capabilities by receiving feedback based on its answers. Although the company is developing a larger GPT-5 model, it plans to combine scaling with this new reasoning paradigm to improve AI performance in tasks requiring complex reasoning and decision-making. Boeing Workers voted on a strike after rejecting company contract offer
Thousands of Boeing workers voted to strike after rejecting a contract offer, posing a significant disruption as the company aims to increase airplane production.
