Today’s Newsletter Summary:

Goodbye to CareerNow’s (old UX), sorry for the scare! CareerNow has a new look for our main home website page, and there is now a new system for YOUR STORY to get featured on CareerNow. (Read below for more!)

I’ve also listed below some Marketing Summer 2026 internships that came out recently on LinkedIn! Don’t worry if you don’t have an internship yet for this upcoming summer, more roles have yet to come and you’re not alone. It’s not an indication of how qualified you are, it’s just that the amount of roles available are significantly less than before.

Ship the message as fast as you think

Founders spend too much time drafting the same kinds of messages. Wispr Flow turns spoken thinking into final-draft writing so you can record investor updates, product briefs, and run-of-the-mill status notes by voice. Use saved snippets for recurring intros, insert calendar links by voice, and keep comms consistent across the team. It preserves your tone, fixes punctuation, and formats lists so you send confident messages fast. Works on Mac, Windows, and iPhone. Try Wispr Flow for founders.

CareerNow has and will always remain a FREE RESOURCE for all students and professionals, because as a student founder — I believe in the importance of career education.

Even though it will be free for all students, it’s unfortunately NOT FREE for me (a solo founder) to keep this newsletter running for all 38,000 of you all. I’ve been paying for the bill by myself through my internships and my current 2 part-time jobs!

BUT. Here’s how you can help with one click!

For each link click on the Wispr Flow ad above as like a streaming ad (by JUST clicking the link) CareerNow will be paid $2 dollars! It is a very very small amount, but if 150 of 38,000 of you click the link, that will pay for the entire month of expenses for CareerNow.

Opportunity Spotlight: CareerNow Spotlight

Do you want your story featured to 38,000 of us?

CareerNow is now officially 1 year and 5 months old.

I’ve started featuring everyone from interns to professionals for now over a year, but my system behind-the-scenes was just a really poorly organized form and more so cold-reaching out to people myself.

So for 2026 - CareerNow has a brand-new feature system.

  • Click the application

  • Fill out your details

  • If you’re an intern (your internship experience should already be completed) and if you’re a professional (you could select a past job experience or a current)

  • Select and answer the questions you prefer

  • Attach two of your photos

  • Submit your application

Starting from now on, I will select your applications on a first-come first-serve basis to feature each week on CareerNow. If you’re a founder and you have a project/small business/side hustle - feel free to apply as well, I’d love to hear from perspectives outside of internships as well from students.

This is YOUR chance to showcase your advice, experience, and story to a wider audience!

Microsoft’s AI Boom VS Its water sustainability promises

Microsoft once pledged to become “water positive” by 2030, but the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence is pushing its water use sharply upward. Internal forecasts obtained by The New York Times show the company expects data center water consumption to rise significantly by the end of the decade, even after revisions for efficiency improvements.

Much of this growth is concentrated in water-stressed regions like Phoenix, Jakarta, and parts of India. The AI race has transformed Microsoft and other tech firms into resource-intensive infrastructure builders, straining local water suppled and exposing gaps in transparency and environmental reporting. OpenAI begins testing ads in ChatGPT to boost revenue

OpenAI announced it will begin testing ads in the free version of the ChatGPT and its low-cost ChatGPT Go plan as it looks to increase revenue. The move comes as the company prepares for a possible public offering and faces massive spending on data centers and computing infrastructure. OpenAI said ads will not influence chatbot responses and that user conversations will not be sold. Ad personalization can be turned off, aiming to balance monetization with user trust. Worth it or Not? - On Campus Jobs

Handshake is THE job platform for you to find on-campus jobs or jobs that are affiliated to your school and would qualify for work study. However here are 3 things you need to be aware of for campus jobs.

  1. How many hours?

  2. Are you learning?

  3. Commute?

Set the filter of (part-time) and (paid) when searching on Handshake.

Personally, I only apply to on-campus jobs with a remote or hybrid work hours with 15-20 hours as a part-time working student. Consider: your academic workload, your club commitments, time for recruitment (because yes it takes time), hobbies (exercising, journaling, whatever it maybe), and your weekends.

On-campus jobs are a great way for you to make some extra side income for you, and for you to also test the waters about an industry you might be interested in pursuing but not at the cost of losing all of your time for yourself.

CareerNow update…

Previously on CareerNow, I featured resources at the very bottom. However I realized some of these resources might not be applicable and I already post a lot of resources on LinkedIn.

So I’m now planning on sharing more candid thoughts from me as a student myself about how I approach everything careers as a way to help/inspire others understand their own early career journey.
